Melinda Taylor

Melinda Taylor is a senior attorney for Collins Family & Elder Law Group and shares her time between the firm’s Columbia, South Carolina, and Fort Mill, South Carolina offices. In 2013 she graduated Cum Laude from the Charlotte School of Law with a Juris Doctor. She also graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina in 1996. Melinda primarily practices in family law but has experience in many areas of civil litigation. She is admitted to the S.C. Bar and U.S. District Court for South Carolina.

Experience & Scope of Practice

Melinda was previously the head family law attorney at another law firm. She has extensive experience in advocating for clients who were victims of domestic violence. She has also represented clients in custody, divorce, adoption, child support, separation, and birth certificate cases. She has completed the South Carolina family law mediation course and has mediated many custody and divorce cases with simple and complex issues. She was elected to South Carolina’s Legal Elite list for Family Law in 2020 and 2021, a list comprised of lawyers whose peers have been selected as one of the best practitioners in their field in the State of South Carolina.
